Description

Authentic 1920s Kokoshnik Bridal Tiara

Elegant and timeless, this authentic 1920s bridal tiara is a beautiful example of the wedding accessories that bridged the refined elegance of the Edwardian era and the emerging Art Deco style.

Its graceful arched silhouette recalls the fashionable kokoshnik tiaras inspired by traditional Russian ceremonial headdresses, a style widely embraced by brides and society women during the early decades of the twentieth century.

Constructed on a rigid wire frame, the tiara is lined on the interior with silver lamé and lavishly embellished on the exterior with alternating rows of ivory faux pearls and clear glass bugle beads. The carefully arranged beadwork creates a delicate geometric pattern that catches and reflects the light beautifully.

A rare and highly decorative antique accessory, ideal for collectors of historical fashion, vintage bridal styling, theatrical productions, costume design, or a bride seeking a truly authentic piece of 1920s elegance.

Please note that the veil shown in some photographs is used for styling purposes only and is not included in the sale.

Dimensions

  • Height at center: 5.6 cm (2.2 inches)
  • Open-back construction allows the tiara to accommodate a range of head sizes.

Materials

  • Silver lamé
  • Faux pearls
  • Clear glass bugle beads
  • Wire frame
  • Metal hook closure

Condition

Good antique condition.

The beadwork remains complete with no visible missing pearls or glass beads. The original hook closure is present but has become detached and requires re-stitching to one end of the tiara.

The silver lamé lining remains intact, although it displays the expected fragility and delicacy associated with a textile that is nearly one hundred years old.

Wear is consistent with age and use.

Original 1920s piece, not a modern reproduction.
