Description
1950s Linen Jacket – New Look Style Tailoring
Elegant 1950s linen jacket inspired by the iconic New Look silhouette introduced by Christian Dior in 1947.
This beautifully tailored ivory jacket features a sculpted waist, wide lapels and delicate tone-on-tone floral embroidery reminiscent of traditional Indienne textile motifs. The refined construction and finishing details clearly indicate a custom dressmaker piece.
The front closes with alternating mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell-effect bakelite buttons, adding subtle contrast and character.
Inside the back hem, two small concealed weights were inserted by the tailor to improve the drape and balance of the garment — a rare couture-inspired detail.
A refined mid-century jacket perfect for summer styling, collectors of vintage tailoring, or lovers of New Look silhouettes.
