Antique candy box, famous confectionery Demel Wien, violets and lily of valley lithographed graphics, boudoir collectible box with violets, dating to the 1920’s.

DESCRIPTION:
Very lovely antique box for candies or sweets from the famous Austrian confectionery Demel, based in Wien, near Hofburg Palace.
Demel confectionery has been active since 1786, they were granted the title of a purveyor to the Habsburg court by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria in 1874, in the heyday of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, they had notable customers included Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), Princess Pauline von Metternich and many other members of aristocracy.
The candy box has a very lovely chromolithograph decoration featuring violets and lily of valley flowers.

HOW TO USE IT:
Very lovely antique cardboard candy box with wonderful period lithographed graphics, perfect to add to a collection of antique boxes and to display in your boudoir decor!

CONDITIONS:
Condition with no significant damage… as you can see. There is some light age discoloration and small spots due to age here and there but overall it is in really nice shape.

MEASURES:
Diameter is 3 1/4″ (8.2 cm), and it is 1 5/8″ (4.2 cm) tall.
