Antique English Ironstone Plate with a Touch of Elegance! 🍇
📏 MEASUREMENTS: 8 5/8″ (21.8 cm) wide, including the handles, by 7 1/2″ (19 cm).
Travel back to the late 1800s with this beautiful and refined antique ironstone plate. Hailing from England, this charming plate boasts a transfer decoration in lovely shades of purple, artfully simulating the weaving of a basket with intertwining ribbons delicately extending to the handles.
The plate is adorned with the engraved mark “Doulton, Burslem,” a stamp that graced pieces from 1882 to 1891. Doulton Burslem, a renowned pottery company, was established in 1877 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, before eventually becoming part of the Royal Doulton legacy in 1901.
This plate stands the test of time, free from ruptures and hairlines. The photos reveal its captivating antique patina, characterized by a deep, age-induced darkening and delightful tea-staining. On the reverse, a charming craquelure effect adds to its character.
Embrace the imperfections and patina that come with age, as gently captured in the photos. We encourage you to closely examine these images before making your purchase.
