Antique French box covered in silk, hand painted roses, boudoir box for gloves or stockings.
Beautiful antique French box from the early 1900s, adorned in antique gold silk and hand-painted with a motif of large roses in shades of white, gray, mauve, light pink, red, and green. The box is entirely trimmed with silk cord in the same color as the fabric, while the interior is lined with light beige silk, lightly padded and quilted. These types of boxes were used in the boudoirs of ladies to store gloves, silk stockings, or handkerchiefs.
MEASUREMENTS: 14 1/4″ (36.2 cm) by 5 1/2″ (14 cm), height 2″ (5.1 cm).
CONDITION: The box is in very good condition, with some slight discoloration in the painted roses. However, this minor flaw, in my opinion, only enhances its charm and makes it even more unique!
