Antique French Ceramic Trivet, Terre de Fer, Blue and Brown Transferware, Bird and Nest Design, Linotte, Creil Montereau.
This stunning and rare French trivet, crafted from Terre de Fer ceramic, dates back to the late 1800s or early 1900s. It features a beautiful blue transferware design depicting birds nesting among flowering branches. The raised borders are intricately modeled to resemble bamboo canes, hand-painted with brown strokes, reflecting the Japonisme style that was highly popular during that era. This trivet belongs to the “Linotte” series, produced by the prestigious Creil Montereau factory, with the mark stamped in blue on the base.
