DESCRIPTION:
Very lovely antique French earthenware plate, small size, white base and airbrushed and stenciled design of plums in tones of blue, green and brown, raised decoration in Art Nouveau style around edge. This antique plate is not signed, it has a very lovely interlaced rusty wire frame that gives it a very French rustic charme, rare to find. The handicraft of creating baskets and other useful objects using interlaced wire was very popular since 18th century in France and in Italy too, in the country side and in villages many artisans were able to create true pieces of art using this humble material.
