DESCRIPTION:
Very lovely antique French enameled allumettes box, match box – holder for kitchen, raised pattern of thin stripes and shades of light blue, gilded fillets and lettering “Allumettes” (Matches) in pale blue/grey, the allumettes box, match box is signed BB, pattern n. 3438, signature used by manufactury Société Austria, early 1900’s.
This kind of match holders were used in every kitchen in the past times, they were necessary to keep the matches to light fires in stoves and fireplaces….

CONDITIONS:
Good conditions, enamel is clean and bright, some rusty dings around the vertical part and around the lid edge and base, interior is in good conditions and bottom is intact.
