Antique FRENCH FABRIC Box, vintage textile box for haberdashery, medallion with courting couple, Antique french fabric Boudoir box au Louvre.

MEASURES:
11″ by 7″, 3 1/4″ tall (28 cm by 17.8 cm, 8.2 cm tall).

DESCRIPTION:
Wonderful antique French textile box dating to the early 1900’s. This antique box has a rectangular shape and was intended to contain haberdashery. The boudoir box is made from heavy cardboard and covered with a lovely antique textile, fabric has a mustard color base and a design featuring a round medallion with a courting couple in bucolic landscape, framed with flowers and a dove, on the sides there is a motif of stripes and flowers. Beautiful antique patina and colors, there are tons of pink, light beige, dark beige, brown, and deep green. The lid is edged with metallic trimming in bronze color. Interior of the box is lined in green paper with a reptile skin pattern in tons of light beige.
On the bottom base there is still glued the original paper label of Au Louvre, Paris.

HOW TO USE IT:
This antique French fabric box would look wonderfully in your collections of old French fabric boxes!

CONDITIONS:
The colors of exterior side of the box are still vibrant, there are some small brownish spots of age on the lid. The box structure is still sturdy, there is wear to corners. Interior too is in good order.

The product has imperfections or a patina due to its age, as can be seen in the photos. Please take a close look at the pictures before making your purchase!
