DESCRIPTION:
Very sweet French petite purse for First Communion, dating to early 1900’s.
This antique purse is made from ivory silk and it’s expertly hand embroidered, the whitework Appenzell embroidery has a wonderful relief and features many different flowers.
The antique First Communion purse is trimmed with net lace in cream white color, the closure is embellished by six small silk ribbon rosettes in cream white color. Handle of this antique purse is made from ivory silk ribbon.
This kind of purses were typically made whith much care for one of the most special occasions in a young girl’s life, the First Holy Communion.

CONDITIONS:
This antique whitework embroidered purse is in very good conditions for its age, there are some pale stains due to age, here and there in the net lace there are small pin holes and some pin holes are visible also to the silk ribbon handle.

The net lace trimming is 1 1/8″(3 cm) wide, maximum width including the trim is 8″ (20 cm), 7 3/4″(19 cm) tall (including the trim), handle is circa 7″ (17 cm) long.
