Antique French painted tin plates, set of 4 toleware plates, Victorian era tole plates tinted in black with hand painted birds and scrolls.

Diameter is 6 3/4″ (17.2 cm).

Wonderful set composed of 4 French antique toleware plates, dating to the Victorian era (Napoleon 3rd era in France), the tin plates are tinted in black, they have scalloped edges with a design of bird in the central area, surrounded by gilded scrolls with dark red details, each plate shows a different design of bird, in tons of red, blue, green, beige, grey, mauve. The plates have gilded filets.

The toleware plates are in good condition, to signal light wear mainly to edges with fading to gildings and traces of rust.
The product has imperfections or a patina due to its age, as can be seen in the photos. Please take a close look at the pictures before making your purchase!
