Antique Italian large cafè au lait bowl, airbrushed and stenciled pearly decoration in pale apricot, marked Ceramiche Piemontesi Mondovì, early 1900’s.

DESCRIPTION:
Very lovely and rare antique Italian large cafè au lait bowl, stenciled and airbrushed decoration in pearly apricot on a cream base. This antique cafè au lait bowl is signed “Ceramiche Piemontesi”, it is a Mondovì (Piemonte region) production, it dates to early 1900’s.
A bit of history: “Ceramica Piemontese” was born in Chiusa Pesio and has been active since the beginning of the 20th century for the production of earthenware.
It manages to impose itself on the market after the First World War and expands its production after having taken over the “Gabutti” factory.
In that period the green mark is represented by an eagle with wings spread over a semicircle that took a nineteenth-century Gabutti brand. In 1932 S.C.I. of Laveno decided to sue the Piedmontese company for unfair competition. The “Ceramica Piemontese” lost the cause and having to compensate a considerable sum, declared bankruptcy.
After the war, a new company was formed which directed itself to the production of strong pottery and in 1967 took over the “Musso” factory, acquiring in 1968 the “Manufactory of the mills”.
The factory remained active until the eighties and in 1984 closed after a part of workers and some associates joined the New Besio of Mondovì.

HOW TO USE IT:
A very lovely addition to your collection of antique French cafè au lait bowls, this antique bowl has all the charme of a farm kitchen in the countryside, its simple and refined design would be perfect to mix and match with other bowls, look at my last two photos, you can see how lovely it is when displayed alone or with other bowls…. I love the antique bowls, they have so many different patterns and age give them so amazing tea stained effects! I am never tired to search them, I enjoy so much to play with them and mix the different patterns matching their colors….

CONDITIONS:
Good antique conditions, this antique cafè au lait bowl has one hair 3″ long, visible in interior and exterior sides, there are also three very old shocks to the edge, visible in my photos. Interior is a bit scratched and stained, it also shows the typical “craquelè” effect as normal in these antique ceramics.

MEASURES:
Diameter is 6 3/4″ (17 cm) wide, 4 1/4″ (10.5 cm) tall.
