Antique Italian round box hand crafted in cardboard covered in antique 1700 silk brocade textile, small boudoir box silk brocade with roses.

DESCRIPTION:
Amazing and rare round shaped box, hand crafted in cardboard entirely covered in silk brocade textile dating 1700. The silk brocade shows a design of roses in blush pink and terracotta red with leaves in light green and grey on a striped base. Stripes are in tones of ivory and very pale blue. Interior is lined in very thin ivory color silk.
This antique box is of italian origin, it comes from Liguria or Piemonte region in Norhtern Italy, hand crafted probably by nuns in convents.

CONDITIONS:
Very good conditions for this so early box, interior is clean, the silk brocade is a bit worn here and there but still very lovely, the box has a great antique patina and faded grandeur!
Structure of the box is sturdy and in very good shape.
