DESCRIPTION:
Wonderful antique jewelry set composed by a bracelet, a brooch, earrings and a button with a jewelry box, dating from the second half of the 1800’s. The set is made of jet or vulcanite, carved cameos in Pompeian style, featuring women’s profiles on the brooch, the bracelet and the button, a small girl face on the earrings. The jewels have a mat finish, I think they are mourning jewels worn during “first mourning,” the first months after the death of a loved one, had a matte black finish referred to as “dead black” by those seeking these items. Most of these pieces were worn during mourning, depending on the closeness of the deceased.

CONDITION:
The jewelry set is in good antique condition, there are no ruptures. The box has light wear on the exterior side.

MEASURES:
Earrings are 2 1/2″ (6.3 cm) long, 3/4″ (2 cm) max width.
Brooch is 1 5/8″ (4.1 cm) wide and 2 3/4″ (7 cm) long.
Bracelet is 8″ (20.3 cm) long and 1 3/8″ (3.5 cm) wide.
The button diameter is 7/8″ (2.2 cm).
