Description

Antique Scottish Alloa salt glaze parian water pitcher with diamond reg. mark, raised decoration with dancing couple, parian jug antique white, dating late 1800’s.

DESCRIPTION:
Antique and very lovely Scottish Alloa salt glaze parian water pitcher, in cream white color with a raised decoration featuring a dancing couple in period dresses, dating to 1800’s. This antique jug has only the English diamond registration mark, it is not very readable but it seems to have letter D or O to the central corner of the diamond, so it could be 1852 or 1862, the right corner of diamond is not readable at all but as on the left corner there’s letter H I am almost sure that this jug production year is in the range 1842-1867.
I have found the jug with a paper label attached that identify it as “Alloa ware”, so it should come from Alloa in Scotland, I do not know much more than this as this is not a usual kind of pottery for me…

HOW TO USE IT:
Very lovely salt glaze pitcher to add to a collection, beautiful also to use in interior decoration!

CONDITIONS:
Good conditions with two hairs to signal, both of them to the border, the first one is very short, it measures about 1/2″ (1,2 cm) and is visible only in interior, the second one is is 3 1/2″ (8 cm) long and it is visible also in exterior side, it runs near the handle and it is not too visible.

MEASURES:
Tall 7 1/4″ (18.5 cm), 6″ (15.2 cm) wide including handle.
