My roots trace back to one of the first shops – an emporium in the town of Cattolica, opened in 1909 by my great-grandmother Elisa Molari and my great-grandfather Giuseppe Pritelli. This shop offered trousseau household linens and fabrics for sale.
In just a few years, everything changed. Old fabrics seemed obsolete; everyone sought practicality and speed, and fashion trends moved faster and faster. There appeared to be no space left for the old “trousseau” items.
I grew up always collaborating in this old family business with my grandmother Libera Ubalducci and my mother Bianca Maria. I suffered greatly when, following family events and the enormous changes brought about by globalization, I decided in 2001 to close this almost century-old business.
After this period of change, I began to feel the need to delve deeper into my long-standing interest in brocante-style antiques and interior decoration inspired by French, English cottage, and Nordic styles. I started collecting old enamel kitchen items, porcelain, ceramics, glassware… all items primarily of French, English, Italian origin, and sometimes even American. These items were mainly from the 19th and early 20th centuries. I collected them to beautify my home. Simultaneously, I began researching to improve and deepen my knowledge in this field. In this way, I happened to also enter the world of vintage fabrics, highly appreciated abroad but sadly not well-known in Italy.
It was a revelation, like love at first sight that pleasantly overwhelmed me. I began collecting various types of historical fabrics (from the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century), primarily of French and European origin, along with old lace, trimmings, and embroidery. Gradually, my affinity for the textures, designs, and colors awakened, and my many years of experience in the family business started bearing fruit. I had the desire to create with these unique fabrics. I began making cushions, tablecloths, and patchwork quilts using the patchwork technique and offering them for sale.
This is how, in 2007, I decided to turn this passion into a business.
Many unique pieces were created, capable of bringing that inimitable touch to our homes that only things steeped in history possess, along with the freshness and originality of their new look.
In this way, a “revolutionary project” was born within me: to move towards the future without anxiously trying to “keep up with the times” but, on the contrary, to return to the deepest roots of things to find a pure source of energy and inspiration.
Following this ideal thread, I continued to deepen my research into vintage items, such as antique French enamel kitchenware, old French ceramics, vintage toys, antique French and English quilts (Boutis and quilts), small brocante cabinets, old perfume bottles, powder boxes, talcum powder boxes, collectible tin boxes, antique baskets, old wallpapers… in short, all things strictly vintage that have the characteristic of being able to “converse” with my textile creations made from vintage materials and my antique fabrics, whether through their color, shape, the emotions they evoke, or the atmosphere they manage to create.
I hope you can find something inspiring here that captures your imagination because I believe that imagination, the ability to dream, and beauty are incredibly important in life. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy my offerings because one of the greatest pleasures is sharing one’s passions with others!
