Enameled French soup tureen Japy, 1930’s, Fall scene, children buying roasted chestnuts French vintage enamel soup tureen or pan with lid.
DESCRIPTION:
Antique French enameled soup tureen or pan with lid dating to years 1930’s. The enameled soup tureen has light beige base, air-brushed and stenciled decoration depicts a Fall scene with children buying roasted chestnuts from a street seller. Details are so tender, the very simple and stylized brown airbrushed silhouettes of the two children, dressed with warm clothes, with their little dog on a leash, waiting to receive their roasted chestnuts foil from the vendor, with grey clouds of steam coming out from the big cauldron…. everything described with a a great synthesis of traits! Green fillets and borders. This enameled soup tureen has been produced by the famous manufacture Japy, as you can see the original paper label is still glued to the bottom of the enamel pan.
In my last photo you can see this soup tureen and other pieces with the same decoration, available in separate listings.
