The story of this collection began about 5 years ago when Tina first stepped into my small gallery, drawn to a delightful old French enamel coffee pot with a beige base adorned with a hand-painted rose. This was her first purchase and marked the beginning of her beautiful collection of vintage enamel kitchen items. Over time, a great harmony developed between us, and I assisted her in continually enhancing this collection with new and unique pieces.
Tina has a romantic soul and is attracted to light colors, especially pink, highly sought after by many enamel collectors worldwide and rather challenging to find. She also appreciates shades of blue, white, light green, and more.
The guiding thread of her collection is the same that fuels my tireless search: pieces of excellent quality with refined decorations and a keen attention to the scenic interplay of color combinations and the uniqueness of the designs. These objects truly have a soul; they manage to evoke emotions by recalling atmospheres of days gone by when the kitchen was the heart of the home.
All these old coffee pots, pans, kitchen scales, salt and matchboxes, utensil holders, coffee grinders, old spice jars have been carefully chosen one by one and sought with patience for their ability to create an aesthetic harmony, in a subtle play of affinities and references. This makes this collection truly special and poetic.
I’m glad that from my search for interesting antique enamel pieces, driven by their decorations, color combinations, and style, collections like this can come to life! I am indeed a tireless researcher, and even after several years, I still find myself amazed by the grace and beauty of these objects. It is precisely this “amazement” that drives me to continue hunting for them! Here are some of my recent interesting discoveries, some magnificent and rare coffee pots in shades of pink and green with hand-painted decorations. They could certainly become the highlights of a collection of old French enamels!
The first, with a pink base adorned with hand-painted roses and pansies in thick enamel, is often signed by the Japy manufacture. The second is beautiful with its shades from green to pink, the central white part finished with golden highlights, and hand-painted with a motif of grapevines. The third, smaller one, is missing the lid, but it’s stunning in its light green hue with the decoration of delicate pale pink roses!
Equally splendid is this old hand wash basin fountain with shades of pink and green, adorned with a motif of pansies; the same design and colors are also found on the small water pitcher.

To conclude, here is a delightful series of kitchen spice jars with a white base and a decoration of garlands of red roses and green leaves. In splendid condition, it can still be used and become a centerpiece in a retro-style kitchen!
