Description
Antique Ironstone Plate with Handles – Timeless Elegance from the Late 1800s! 🍽️
📏 MEASUREMENTS: 8 5/8″ (21.8 cm) wide, including the handles, by 7 1/2″ (19 cm).
Experience the charm of yesteryears with this beautiful and refined antique ironstone plate. Originating from England and hailing from the late 1800s, this small plate boasts a transfer decoration in stunning shades of purple. The intricate design artfully simulates the weaving of a basket with ribbons gracefully intertwining on the handles.
While this plate doesn’t bear a visible signature, it’s identical to another piece with the engraved mark “Doulton, Burslem,” which was in use from 1882 to 1891, the second plate, identical to this one, is available in a separate listing at this link: https://villavillacolle.etsy.com/listing/1582470770/antique-english-ironstone-plate-with, as seen in one of the photos.
Doulton Burslem, a renowned pottery company, was founded in 1877 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, and later became part of the Royal Doulton legacy in 1901.
Despite the passage of time, this plate remains in good condition, proudly displaying the gentle signs of use and aging that add to its vintage character. There’s a small lack of glazing on one handle’s edge and a discreet rupture under the edge, as thoughtfully captured in the photos.
Embrace the imperfections and patina that come with age, as lovingly documented in the images. We encourage you to closely examine these photos before making your purchase.
