Antique French ironstone teapot, multicolor transfer decor of flowers all over the piece, antique terre de fer teapot signed Montereau
8 1/2″ (21.5 cm) tall, 11 3/4″ (29.8 cm) max width, 5 1/4″ (13.3 cm) deep.
Antique, wonderful and very rare ironstone (terre de fer) teapot, with transfer decoration showing laces and small flowers in tons of green, with red and blue hand painted details, the design is sprayed all over the piece in “chintz” style. This pitcher has the mark of the famous French manufacture Montereau, Louis Lebeuf, Medaille d’Or, 1834.
This mark has been used from 1833 to 1840.
Price is for the teapot, in my last photo and in the video you can see also the cups and saucers and the milk jug in the same model, they are available in separate listings.
This teapot is in good condition, there are some small ruptures under the lid, this teapot has been professionally restored by a very skilled hand and looks perfect to display, but my advice is not to use it for serving hot beverages.
The product has imperfections or a patina due to its age, as can be seen in the photos. Please take a close look at the pictures before making your purchase!
