Inspiration Nursery! An old children’s room filled with antique toys and precious rare treasures. In the background, an old French mattress canvas with red and pink stripes will be the perfect backdrop to showcase all these delicate items. Above, a beautiful fabric with a rose pattern; in the center, a fragment of antique Provençal boutis with a white background and a pattern of little roses: it could be used to create beautiful cushions, so I wrap it around a cushion to convey the idea. Other old French fabrics, still in shades of bright pink, are also used as a backdrop.
I arrange more antique toys in an old French haberdashery box: three delightful doll dresses, one white and slightly larger, made of light plumetis fabric with applied roses on the front and silk pink bows on the sleeves and at the low waist in a typically Edwardian style. The other two, smaller ones, feature red fabric patches, lace, and ribbons – truly charming!
Nearby, there’s an old pink fabric parasol with a rose-patterned edge and a ring-shaped handle for a child, along with some beautiful light blue silk baby shoes with a soft bow on the front, both from France in the early 1900s. There’s also a delicate little bag made of striped fabric with small flowers, an Edwardian-era piece, placed nearby. Surrounding these items are small toiletries like a violet-scented perfume bottle signed by Roger and Gallet and a small pin cushion with lace and silk ribbons.

A truly precious antique toy!
I continue by placing a genuine treasure, a truly precious antique toy! An antique Armand Marseille doll from 1910, a baby character, dressed as a newborn with a beautiful dress and bonnet adorned with lace and pink silk ribbons. It has a biscuit head and hands, a cloth body swathed in adorable swaddling, and comes complete with its stunning lace port enfant. I place it on a vintage French fabric pillow and one entirely made of white lace.
Next to this sweet doll, I place a tender French teddy bear, an antique toy, utterly charming with a crochet doll bonnet and an Irish point lace skirt. To complete the scene, there’s a Victorian haberdashery box complete with all its accessories!
